Maritime Heritage Centre to Bristol Marina.

Distance: Less than ¼ mile (400m)   Street Map: Maritime Heritage Centre.

Note all distances are my fairly inaccurate estimates.

Prow of the SS Great Britain The Maritime Heritage Centre consists of a large car park, museum, restaurant and shop. Its also the usual berth of the Matthew and is the home of the SS Great Britain too.

As well as being a landing point for the gas ferry the other city dock ferries also pick-up and land here.

Next to it is a small station on the Harbourside Steam Railway that operates on many weekends from Spring to Autumn. All in all well worth a visit and as the restoration continues perhaps even a return visit.

If you can tear yourself away from the heritage centre the walk continues inland going round the Albion Dockyard.

Basically keep to the right until you reach Bristol Marina.

In detail, go inland along Gasferry Road. Take the footpath right then at the next roadway keep to the right passing the clock tower on your left just before Michelle's and then you reach the docks again at Bristol Marina.
